Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin) was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer who lived from December 28, 1922 to November 12, 2018. He progressed through the ranks of Timely Publications, a family-owned company that would ultimately become Marvel Comics. For two decades, he was the company's creative director, overseeing its growth from a minor subsidiary of a publishing house to a multimedia powerhouse that dominated the comics and film sectors.

Stan Lee was tasked with shearing Thor's characteristic hair when he appeared on Sakaar as the intergalactic barber to The Grandmaster's Contest of Champions. Stan Lee told the God of Thunder to stay still before giving him a new style with a considerably shorter hairdo, because his jittery hands and the swirling haircut machinery do not mix well.
