Thor (God of Thunder)
Thor Odinson, often known as Thor or the God of Thunder, is a fictional character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film property, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and the Norse mythological god of the same name. He is played by Chris Hemsworth. He is presented as one of the most powerful Asgardians in the MCU, an ancient alien culture with long roots to Earth that humans perceive as gods. Thor is the cocky heir to the throne of Asgard, wielding the massive hammer Mjolnir, and is initially shown as the arrogant heir to the throne of Asgard, causing chaos among the Nine Realms under Asgard's protection. As a result, he is set against his evil adopted brother, Loki. Thor pledges his allegiance to Earth's defense and joins the Avengers as a founding member. After Odin's death, Thor becomes King of Asgard, but the entire kingdom is obliterated during Ragnarök. He joins the Guardians of the Galaxy after passing the crown of New Asgard to Valkyrie and passing the Blip.
