Iron Man is a fictional superhero that appears in Marvel Comics'.  Stan Lee, the writer, co-created the character, which was further developed by scripter Larry Lieber and drawn by illustrators Don Heck and Jack Kirby. The character initially appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963 cover), then he was given his own title in Iron Man #1. (May 1968). Along with Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, and the Hulk, the character founded the Avengers in 1963.

Anthony Edward Stark, a wealthy American businessman, playboy, philanthropist, inventor, and brilliant scientist, is kidnapped and suffers a catastrophic chest injury. When his captors try to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction, he instead builds a mechanized suit of armor in order to preserve his life and flee captivity. Stark later improves his suit by adding weaponry and other technological gadgets created by his company, Stark Industries. As Iron Man, he uses the suit and its various variants to safeguard the globe. Stark eventually reveals himself to be Iron Man, despite first disguising his true identity.
