The game awards of 2022 is about to air and the anticipation is high. With categories, nominations, and prizes, it's no wonder why everyone wants to know what the hottest event in gaming will be but don't worry we've got you covered. What is the Game Awards and where to watch it?

This year’s show will feature over 25 awards across various categories, as well as special appearances from some of gaming’s biggest stars. The Game Awards will also showcase exclusive world premiere gameplay trailers for some of the most anticipated games of 2023 and beyond. The 2022 Game Awards will be broadcast from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday starting at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 a.m. GMT. It will stream live on every major platform, including: YouTube in 4K,Twitch, Twitter, Facebook Live ,Steam, Oculus Venues, IGN, GameSpot, TikTok Live, Trovo, Instagram Live. And on the XpectoGO channel!

What categories are there?

The Game Awards are an annual awards ceremony that recognize the best video games of the year. The event is produced and hosted by Geoff Keighley, who also serves as its executive producer. It was first held on December 5th, 2014 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. There are several different award categories that are given out each year at The Game Awards. Some of the main award categories include Game of the Year, Best Developer, and Best Studio. There are also a number of different genre-specific award categories, such as Best Action Game and Best Role-Playing Game. The nominations for this year are divided over 31 genres, ranging from best game director to best esports event. The most eagerly awaited prize is undoubtedly game of the year, but outstanding story, art direction, soundtrack and music, character performance, and independent titles will all undoubtedly garner a lot of attention.
